Biomass Commercial

Clean, Efficient & Reliable

Take advantage of the latest government Renewable Heat Incentives (RHI) and you could save money on your heating while earning a guaranteed income for the next 20 years! As leading installers throughout the South East, Artizan have a proven track record of providing the very best in Biomass solutions – solutions that work!

Commercial biomass systems provide heat in the form of hot water or steam for space heating, hot water for shower, sanitisation and food processing etc. To be eligible for the RHI phase 1 the property needs to be rated for commercial use, schools, colleges, church, community centres along with farms etc., (farms may come under a different category; see farm installations). With the governments RHI phase 1 scheme biomass boilers are an ideal choice; saving up to 86% of CO2 emissions against traditional fossil fuels, along with creating much needed employment and ensuring a secure locally sourced fuel.

Artizan can install new heating and hot water systems to satisfy all requirements, including under floor heating, radiator circuits and warm air units. In most installations a new plant room will have to be fabricated either as an alteration to the existing building, or as a new detached building to house the boiler and fuel store. These come in all shapes and sizes from container to bespoke solutions.

Farm Installations

The commercial RHI phase 1 can be applied to farms even though in most cases the farm is rated as one (residential and business) premises. If for example the farm has no residential dwellings, but has a food processing plant or botanical or other heating requirement using renewable heat energy then a phase 1 RHI application will apply. A farm with no other heat requirement but with two residential properties; an application under a district scheme will apply.

District Heating Installations

District heating systems provide heating and domestic hot water to more than one separately rated property, either domestic or commercial; using one heat source. With the governments RHI phase 1 scheme biomass boilers are an ideal choice; saving up to 86% of CO2 emissions against traditional fossil fuels, along with creating much needed employment and ensuring a secure locally sourced fuel.

Most district systems require laying underground heat mains from the boiler room to the individual properties. The plan shown has approximately 300m. Ideally the heat main runs need to be as short as possible to reduce heat loss.

Educational Installations

Educational establishments also comes under the RHI application so a combination of the above will be eligible for the commercial RHI. You may have a situation where there is no food processing, education or any other eligible heat uses other than a single dwelling and an office for the farm; this can also be eligible. If this is the case certain criteria must be met with each application presented to Ofgem for consideration.
